How do you prepare to attend school internationally?

On Behalf of | Apr 12, 2018 | Immigration |

If you’re an international student who is hoping to study in Nebraska, you will need to prepare for a very involved application process. What will you need, and how will you properly apply to the university of your choosing?

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has a page for prospective international students highlighting some of the things that you’ll need to prepare yourself for the application process. This includes asking yourself some questions first. For example, do you have enough time to meet the necessary deadlines? Do you have all of the academic transcripts that you’ll need to provide in order to attend a college in America? Do you have your visa form?

For academic transcripts, you’ll likely need your certificate of graduation or diploma, transcripts showing grades in individual classes, and potentially an English translation for all of these.

The visa forms relevant to you will likely be Form I-20 or Form DS-2019. However, it may differ on a case-by-case basis. You should check to be sure you know what visa application for you need for your intended stay. Now is also the time to see if you have sufficient funds to attend an American university or college.

Deadlines differ, depending on which college you want to attend. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get your visa and other paperwork squared away before the deadlines for registering to your school of choice.

These are a few of the most basic necessities that you’ll need to keep in mind during the application process. Make sure that you have proper guidance through the procedure, and you’ll be able to apply with as few bumps as possible.
