On Thursday, August 20, 2015, Nebraska State Patrol seized over 200 pounds of marijuana on I-80. A state trooper pulled over the suspect’s vehicle due to speeding and had probable cause to search the car, revealing the controlled substances in the trunk. Just an hour later, another vehicle was stopped for running a stop sign and arrested after the officer found over 20 pounds of marijuana and a loaded shotgun in the trunk.
That same evening, another trooper pulled over a vehicle after they failed to stop at a light. Once the trooper approached the car, there was an apparent smell that indicated drugs might be located in the vehicle. After searching, more than 82 pounds of marijuana were found in the trunk. All of these individuals are being held in jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, along with other charges.
